MADE IN AFRICA

Made in Africa (MIA) is a global luxury group and platform for African creatives.

ABOUT MADE IN AFRICA

It was founded in 2018 for the purpose of acquiring:
Vlisco (founded 1846), Maiyet (founded 2011), Zuvaa (founded 2014), UNIFORM and MadeInAfrica.com (founded by L&J 2010 – 2016)

There is a massive shift happening in global culture. We believe that authentic African brands resonate and serve the needs of the African (and diaspora) community better than the competition. Everyone in Africa and the diaspora can name French, Italian, British, Spanish, or American iconic fashion brands.

But can anyone name an African fashion brand?

The African domestic apparel market is 32$ billion and growing. The African apparel export opportunity is growing.

We focus on brands because, in comparison to manufacturers, brands create more long-term value. While every major luxury and fashion house focuses on her… Our primary competitive advantage is our relationship with her. Our secondary competitive advantage is our creative direction. Our third competitive edge comes from innovation in manufacturing.

Made in Africa™ brings African Culture to a
global audience.

MADE IN AFRICA™ (MIA) PURPOSE

7

FASHION

A massive shift is taking place in art and global culture reorienting our ideals around aspiration and value. We predict this will become the most important movement in fashion’s history.

8

LUXURY

MIA’s strategy is centered around buying and transforming existing fashion houses, as well as the development of new houses that serve cultural tastemakers.

9

CREATIVITY

MIA’s strategy is built upon building beautiful partnerships with artisans and creatives, as well as all other participants in our value chain such as farmers and textile workers.

We are pioneering a new era in fashion and luxury devoid of modern-day slavery, child labor, and exploitative practices more broadly.
